Gil Daniels,34, Killed In Gunfight With Hamas In Gaza Strip

This week, a tragic event occurred in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip, where a soldier of Indian origin, aged 34, lost his life during combat. The soldier was engaged in a fierce battle in the Gaza Strip.

Master Sergeant (Reserve) Gil Daniels, a resident of Ashdod, tragically lost his life in the Gaza conflict on Tuesday. The following day, Wednesday, a solemn funeral was held in his honor at the military cemetery located in his hometown of Ashdod.

 

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF), officially confirmed the heartbreaking news. Master Sergeant (Reserve) Gil Daniels was indeed one of the soldiers who fell in the line of duty during the conflict in the Gaza Strip. The IDF’s announcement further revealed that the loss was not limited to Gil alone. Another soldier also made the ultimate sacrifice during the same combat operation.

“Israel has lost many soldiers in this vicious and cruel war, the best of its sons and daughters who stood up to fight for the honour of the entire nation of Israel. Today, we mourn the death of another IDF (Israel Defence Forces) soldier Master Sgt. (Res.) Gil Daniels (34), son of Yoel and Mazal,” the Indian Jewish Heritage Centre said.

“Gil went to the reserves on October 10 soon after the war started. May his memory be blessed,” it said.

Gil Daniels, pursued his Master’s degree at the esteemed School of Pharmacy at Hebrew University. This prestigious institution, renowned for its rigorous academic programs, provided Gil with a robust foundation in the field of Pharmacy.
